If your plans include time on the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail or the Colorado Trail through Monarch Mountain, make sure you are aware of the upcoming closures.

From August 22 through September 30, Monarch Mountain will be conducting felling and helicopter operations to remove dead trees along the Continental Divide that have been infected by the spruce beetle.

A 3.16 mile section through the Monarch Mountain Ski Area (Continental Divide Trail – between segments 19-017RR and 19-035RR) will involve a detour to allow these timber removal operations to take place safely.

Learn more about the closures: https://www.skimonarch.com/cdnst-ct-detour/

Please direct your questions to our partners at U.S. Forest Service – PSICC National Forest.
