Court program seeks to reduce active warrants in one fell swoop – Boulder Weekly

“When you look at the effects of having an active warrant, [it] can keep you from being eligible for Section 8 housing. They can keep you from being able to get a job,” Boulder County Assistant District Attorney Van Nice says. “And, of course, those are all stability pillars.”

If you or someone you know has an active warrant, consider participating in the Boulder County District Attorney’s new program, Fresh Start. Fresh Start is designed to give those with active warrants stemming from non-violent and low-level misdemeanors or traffic cases an opportunity to move toward a resolution in their case. This program is a collaborative effort between the DA’s Office, the defense bar, judges, and the Sheriff’s Office.
