Swearing in of new commissioners is usually done at the Weld County Courthouse. This year, however, the ceremony was virtual with the Honorable Judge James Hartmann delivering the oaths of office from the courthouse, while the newly elected commissioners (and their families) were at the Weld County Administration Building. Congratulations to Commissioner Mike Freeman, who is serving his third term, and Commissioners Perry Buck and Lori Saine, who are serving their first terms. Providers Advancing School Outcomes (PASO) is a program led by United Way of Weld County that provides education and training for unlicensed family, friend, and neighbor (FFN) Spanish-only speaking child care providers. The Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment, in partnership with United Way and the Northern Colorado Breastfeeding Coalition, provided training on the health benefits of breastfeeding and how PASO child care providers can best support nursing mothers. After completing the training, each attendee took an assessment and created an action plan to meet criteria for certification.
