A portion of the Poudre River Trail Corridor is closed through January to accomm... 3

A portion of the Poudre River Trail Corridor is closed through January to accommodate water storage excavation and riverbank stabilization. This project necessitates closing the Poudre Trail from 25th to 35th avenues. The trail is expected to reopen in early February or sooner.

Why is the Poudre Trail closed between 25th and 35th avenues? For your safety. The City of Greeley is reinforcing the bank of the adjoining fishing pond for flood control and had to tear out a bit of the trail. Roger Schmidt explains. #poudretrail #greeleywater

On Thursday, January 14th at 12:05 pm, Greeley Police officers and the Fire Department were dispatched to an injured worker at the Poudre Ponds construction site, in approximately the 1100 block of North 35th Avenue. A preliminary investigation revealed that a worker was in a trench when the dirt wall collapsed.

The adult male was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The identity of the male will be released by the Weld County Coroner. No additional information will be released today.
