As we wrap up the year, we want to share the top five things from Weld County Government that made news in 2020.
Number 2: After 20 years of faithful service to the residents of Weld County, Barbara Kirkmeyer
will complete her fifth term as a Weld County Commissioner this year. First elected in 1992, Kirkmeyer served from 1993-2000 and then again from 2009-2020, representing district three on both occasions.

HPLD branch libraries, and several Member libraries, are open on Monday, January 18, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Why?
In 1994, Senator Harris Wilford and Congressman John Lewis worked together to bring The
King Holiday and Service Act to life. This act challenges Americans to use the day as a day of service as opposed to a day of rest and reflection.Being open on Monday means that the community has better access to the necessary, educational, life-improving materials and services that we hold. We can serve by being open, and being open may give some community members better avenues and opportunities to serve as well.
