Providers Advancing School Outcomes (PASO) is a program led by United Way of Weld County that provides education and training for unlicensed family, friend, and neighbor (FFN) Spanish-only speaking child care providers. The Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment, in partnership with United Way and the Northern Colorado Breastfeeding Coalition, provided training on the health benefits of breastfeeding and how PASO child care providers can best support nursing mothers. After completing the training, each attendee took an assessment and created an action plan to meet criteria for certification.

January is Cervical Health Awareness Month, and the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment encourages residents to start the new year right by completing preventive health screenings. The Women’s Wellness Connection offers free cervical cancer screenings to women who don’t have health insurance.
