Take it back – way back. Take it back to when you guarded your diary WITH YOUR LIFE! You knew kid brother would have loved to get his grimy hands on your gossip. Take that key – lock the cardboard tight and
hide it behind your Luke Perry poster. That’s right – Take it all back – remember the good old days, lock up all your current treasures, and think fondly of young Perry every night, at 9 p.m.
LOCK UP your car, house, windows, garage, gates, shed
TURN ON exterior lights, security cameras, alarm systems
BRING IN valuables from your car, yard, patio
And, report suspicious activity.

Town Receives National Award
The National Association of Town Watch presented the Erie Police Department with an award recognizing the outstanding participation in ‘America’s Night Out Against Crime’ on August
4, 2020. Due to the pandemic, rather than hosting a traditional cook-out, the Police Department organized a ‘Police Popsicle Parade’ event. Along the parade route, officers, firefighters, emergency medical service, and Waste Connections met briefly with residents at nine local parks and maintained 6 feet of social distance while wearing masks.Erie News

Coexisting with Coyotes
Erie is no stranger to coyote sightings. These clever canids have readily adapted to our food and habitat-rich environments.
As sightings begin to rise, we would like to take a moment to
share some reminders to help avoid coyote encounters in your neighborhood. Please share these tips with your children and neighbors. • Keep pets on a leash when walking
• Pick up small pets if confronted by a coyote
• Do what you can to discourage a coyote’s approach – yell, stomp your feet, throw small rocks or sticks
• Always supervise your pet when outside, especially at dawn and dusk
• Never leave cats or dogs outside after dark
• Don’t leave food or water outside for pets
• Keep your pets up to date on vaccinations
If you encounter a coyote behaving aggressively, or a coyote attack we urge you to contact our dispatch at 303-441-4444. Ask to speak with an officer, who will forward the details to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
