If you’re heading out on the Poudre River Trail, please be aware of this new detour.

🚧Trail Closure Alert: Starting on Monday, January 18, a portion of the Poudre River Trail near Whiting Reservoir will be closed. The closure is anticipated to last approximately 4 months. A detour will be located 1 mile east of Colorado Blvd. and 1/2 mile west of Eastman Park. The detour follows a gravel utility road that is rough and uneven. Dismounting is recommended if on a bike. The detour passes through private property so trail users are asked to stay on the road. For your safety, and out of respect for private property owners that allow the Poudre Trail to pass through their property, please do not go around signage and barriers. The detour is due to construction of the new Raindance Golf Course.

⚠ How can Weld County help protect its communities from natural hazards? ⚠ The Weld County Office of Emergency Management is reviewing its Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan and is seeking input from Windsor residents located in the county. Please take a moment to complete a brief survey at http://bit.ly/3qx5WRL The plan is important to our community because it:
➡ Ensures eligibility for all sources of hazard mitigation funds made available through FEMA.
➡ Increases public awareness and understanding of vulnerabilities as well as support for specific actions to reduce losses from future disasters.
➡ Informs the development, prioritization, and implementation of mitigation projects. Benefits accrue over the life of these projects as losses are avoided from each subsequent hazard event.
➡ And more! Photo: Taken at the corner of 15th Street & Guardian Drive in Windsor on May 20, 2020, just prior to multiple landspout tornadoes occurring to the east in Weld County.
