Platteville Gilcrest Fire crews along with SE Weld, Hudson, Fort Lupton and LaSalle Fire are working a large fire near CR 30 and CR 43. The fire is contained to the area due to diligent work by all crews. Smokewill be visible in the area while crews work on extinguishment. Due to the size and nature of this fire crews will be onscene for a few hours this morning. Please avoid the area if you can. No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is not known at this time.

At 2:37 a.m. Platteville Gilcrest Fire Protection District received a call for a structure fire in the 700 Block of Grand Ave. Reports were stating that there is smoke coming from one of the trailers in themobile home park. Mutual aid from Frederick Firestone Fire and LaSalle Fire were called in for additional manpower to fight the structure fire. First arriving fire units saw visible heavy smoke coming from the eaves. Immediately upon arriving onscene, fire crews made rapid entry into the structure and went into fire attack mode to knock down the fire.
