💨Gale! Is that you!? It’s officially Windter time here in Colorado (see what we did there…) If you’re traveling, especially on open roads and highways, please take extra caution. ✨Focus on driving. Keep both hands on the wheel and avoid distractions so you can deal with any wind gusts that may rudely try to change your direction of travel. ✨Slow your roll. If windy conditions make you feel like your car is hurtling through the space/time continuum, reduce your speed. ✨Consider alternate routes. In addition to having slower speed limits, side roads may have more surrounding coverage to help break up the wind. ✨If you’re going north, check for road closures. We’re pretty sure Wind is the state bird of Wyoming. Stay safe and call if you need us, Fort Collins!
Wind gusts of 70 to 80 mph are forecast in the foothills, with gusts to 65 mph on the plains. A high wind warning is in effect for the foothills from noon today through noon Friday. For the rest of the plains, the warning is in effect from midnight tonight through 6 pm Thursday.
