This afternoon was Captain Lance Homann’s final shift, he is retiring from Evans and will be taking over as the Fire Chief for Saint Marie’s Fire Protection District in Idaho.

Captain Homann first joined Evans in 1988 as a volunteer firefighter, he became the second ever Evans full time firefighter in 2003 and is the most senior member of our organization. Please join us in congratulating Captain Homann on an incredible 32 year career!!

Due to the current restrictions, a small ceremony was held where Capt. Homann was given the flag that was flying at the station on his last day and a final page from our dispatch center. Audio of the page will be in our next post.

Leaders of Greeley and Evans have joined together to create this public service announcement regarding the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, which is infecting hundreds of people a day. Please share on your social media pages to help get the word out and slow the spread of this deadly virus. Together, we can prevent death and serious illness in our neighbors, friends and loved ones. Only with a reduction in community spread can District 6 schools bring students back for in-person learning. Thank you for your help!
