COVID-19 has required us to make some adjustments to the services we provide in order to help protect the safety of our employees and the community.

For the immediate future the following service changes will be in place:
– Only professional visitors will be allowed at the Boulder County Jail, no personal visits will be allowed. Phone calls and video visitation will still be available for use, and can be scheduled with our phone vendor, Combined Public Communications at 1-877-998-5678 or at www.inmatesales.com.
-Anyone with already scheduled fingerprinting appointments will be allowed, however we are not taking any new appointments, unless they are court ordered.

We have made some other adjustments to our other procedures that will likely not be noticeable to the public in general. As we go forward, if there are significant public service changes due to COVID-19, we will let you know.

We encourage you to practice social distancing to help slow the spread of the virus. For more information about COVID-19, visit: boco.org/covid-19.

Thank you for your understanding.

Burn Permits

[2020-12-02 12:46:58

Sheriff Pelle rescinded the Level 2 Fire Restrictions that were in place for unincorporated areas of western Boulder County. Increased relative humidity, cooler temperatures and shorter days have decreased fire danger.

Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, along with federal, state and local partners, will continue to work together to evaluate conditions and the need for any future restrictions.

Residents are reminded that although the fire restrictions are not in effect, there are still permit requirements in place for slash burning and broadcast burns, also known as prescribed fires. Permits are available online at: www.bouldercounty.org/safety/fire/burn-permits/. Agricultural burns and campfires are now allowed and do not require a permit.

For current closures and shooting restrictions for United States Forest Service properties, please visit the following website: www.fs.usda.gov/alerts/arp/alerts-notices.
