The Weld RE-5J School District would like to send a HUGE shout out to our incredible food service and transportation team! This spring and summer, they served over 114,000 meals to our families! THANK YOU!

We are currently applying for a waiver from the USDA to continue serving meals in neighborhoods this fall! Stay tuned!

Remember: You could be infectious in the 2 days prior to showing any COVID-19 symptoms. You could also just be asymptomatic. Feeling fine doesn’t mean that you can’t infect someone else who might not have the same response to the virus as you. We've all got to do our part right now to wear masks, social distance, and stick with just the people we live with. Now is not the time to get together with others. #keepitvirtual #frontrangefirerescue

Only Wednesday stands between us and Thanksgiving!

Technically Town government facilities are already closed to the public for safety, so this is a reminder that Thursday and Friday are holidays for Town Staff and many others (of course our emergency services are still available).

We will be back to busily working-from-home again on Monday 11/30.

Good Day!
I hope you are well as we head into the Thanksgiving holiday. While the wildland fires have mostly died down with our recent weather, your Front Range Fire Rescue (FRFR) firefighters continue to be busy. This time of year often gets busy as we start to drive on icy roads, do more elaborate cooking in our homes, or start fires in the fireplace that hasn’t been used since last winter. We encourage all of you to remain safe and vigilant and enjoy your holiday season.

With our area moving to status Red due to the COVID pandemic, we wanted to share with you that we are making some changes at FRFR until at least the start of 2021. All visitors to our facilities must have an appointment. This includes car seat checks, drop-offs of building plans, or visiting one of our staff. When you arrive, you will be asked the standard signs and symptoms questions we are accustomed to these days before coming inside. We continue to require masks and social distancing once inside. To make an appointment, you can contact us at 970.587.4464

We have certainly seen an increase in COVID related calls over the last few weeks in our district. We are doing our very best to ensure that our equipment, facilities, and most importantly, our personnel are prepared for your emergency. By limiting the non-emergency potential exposures, we can help minimize the impact to service that comes when one of our firefighters gets sick or needs to quarantine. Lastly, as a firefighter for the last three decades, I have enjoyed most of my holiday dinners at the firehouse. This year, because of the need to minimize exposures, our firefighters are eating inside their individual stations without their families visiting. Changing such a time-honored tradition is hard to do, but we know that so many of you are doing the same at your house, and it’s only right that we do the same.

We appreciate your continued support and help as we navigate these times.

Respectfully,
Michael West, Fire Chief
