This year, staff took advantage of the lower water level at Windsor Lake to complete new and improved lake access steps at the Windsor Lake Dog Park. You've probably noticed that sometimes the water level at Windsor lake is lower and sometimes higher. It's pretty normal and it happens every year. That's because the lake is considered a "working lake". It provides water for irrigation, it fulfills various water rights, and it's used for fun and recreation like swimming, boating and fishing. It's one lake with lots of nifty uses. And, we're glad staff could sneak in this little but much needed dog park improvement.

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, so far this year there have been 168 deaths on Colorado roadways due to impaired driving. Even with reduced traffic counts, there has been a 14% increase in related traffic deaths, compared to 2019.
