Out of an abundance of caution, and to protect the well-being of our community members and staff, town offices will close to the public beginning November 4. While employees will continue to report to work, town administrators believe this move is necessary to help slow the spread of COVID-19, protect our vulnerable populations, and reduce the strain on our healthcare systems. This closure affects both Mead Town Hall and the Mead Police Department. Read more: https://www.townofmead.org/…/town-facilities-close-public-b…

FUN FACT FRIDAY: Next week, Black Friday will be upon us. This massive shopping day was established in the 1950’s when people began calling in sick to get a jump start on their holiday shopping. The term “Black Friday” was dubbed by the Philadelphia police in 1966, when describing the chaos that descended on downtown stores. Retailers soon latched on to “Black Friday” because accountants used black to signify profits when recording in their books. The Friday after Thanksgiving is an important day for many stores and Mead businesses are no different! Sugar Mill Antiques & Vintage Depot is home to over 80 vendors that offer unique gifts for everyone. They regularly host special events and frequently partner with non-profits to help raise money and awareness for local causes. Sugar Mill will celebrate their first Black Friday featuring sales, giveaways, and the awesome Gnomevember scavenger hunt. Spend Black Friday in Mead and shop local!
