The Cameron Peak Fire is 100% contained after 112 days of work by responders from across the country. Containment does need mean the fire is completely extinguished. It refers to the percentage of the perimeter that has an established fuel break (still good news). According to the Incident Management Team, there were 216 people working in response as of this morning, which is a large jump from several weeks ago when there were over 2,000. PFA responders have been involved in a variety of ways since day one, most heavily in mid-October during the protection of the Redstone Canyon area. Here is a look back. Thank you to all the community members who supported relief efforts and first responders, and thank you to the fire personnel that made this good news possible.
