Weld Sheriff’s Office searching for suspect in Saturday shooting
The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a Fort Lupton man involved in a shooting over the weekend in a subdivision in rural Weld County.
At 4:35 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to a report of a shooting that took place in front of a residence in the 7100 block of Henry Street in Aristocrat Acres, which is a subdivision located about four miles northeast of Fort Lupton. Upon arrival, deputies found one man who had sustained minor injuries associated with the shooting.
The suspect, Coltin Clark, 28, fled the scene in a truck with his girlfriend. The truck was located and impounded by the sheriff’s office.
Weld County detectives secured a no bond arrest warrant for Clark who is wanted on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, a Class 2 felony, second-degree assault, a Class 4 felony, menacing, a Class 5 felony, and possession of a weapon by a previous offender, a Class 5 felony, as well as a misdemeanor charge of violating a mandatory protection order.
Information gathered during the investigation suggests the shooting between Clark and a family member was related to a dispute over money. Clark is armed and dangerous, but investigators don’t think he is a threat to the general public.
Clark, who is described as a white man, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with neck tattoos and weighing about 130 pounds, is thought to be hiding out in the Denver metro area. He may be driving a Honda motorcycle. Anyone with information about his location is asked to call 911.
This is an active investigation and no additional information can be released at this time.
Anyone with information regarding this or any other crime is asked to call the Weld County Sheriff’s Office at (970) 356-4015 or Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted through the Crime Stoppers website at www.crimeshurt.com. Those submitting tips through Crime Stoppers that lead to the arrest and filing of charges on a suspect(s) may be eligible for a cash reward.
Greeley Tribune Endorsement: Lori Saine would bring right tools, attitude to county commission
Honored to receive the Greeley Tribune’s endorsement that I bring the right tools and attitude to the Commission. I worked hard to get big-issue items through the State House that Weld County citizens had to wait on for decades and as County Commissioner, I’ll continue to get the big problems…
