PFA responds to several calls a year that require specialized rope rescue skills. To maintain highly trained personnel, PFA’s rope technicians participated in the annual high-angle rescue class last week. The training was conducted by Rigging for Rescue, a company that employs skilled trainers, all with an abundance of experience in search and rescue and technical ropework instruction. With support from the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, personnel were able to train at Duncan’s Ridge and Horsetooth Falls. Since rope rescues can also occur in an industrial setting, personnel were also able to train at the New Belgium Brewing facility.
