A career spanning 24 years with Weld County’s Department of Human Services (DHS) was honored this week as the Board of County Commissioners presented Stella Rodriguez with a Recognition of Services Award.
Rodriguez spent her career working as an eligibility technician. She began her career in the business office where she manually issued paper food stamp coupons to residents. After this system became automated, she moved over to the eligibility side, where she helped determine residents’ eligibility for programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistant for Needy Families (TANF), Long Term Care (LTC), Medicaid, Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP), and the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP).
Rodriguez was equally grateful for the opportunity she was given to make a positive impact on Weld County and its residents.
“It’s been an amazing 24 years,” Rodriguez said. “I want to thank everyone who works at Weld County, and I was more than thrilled and excited to help the community during my time at DHS.”
