Back in early June, strong winds knocked over the old Christmas tree at Historic City Hall, causing it to be uprooted. Now, a new tree has been planted in its place to grow new roots in Brighton's history!

The new tree is a Colorado Blue Spruce standing at about 8 feet tall and 4 feet wide, and has the potential to grow to 70 feet high! Stakes are holding the tree until it can get its roots secure in the ground. After about a year, the stakes will be removed.

The old tree, estimated at 80 to 100 years old, was chopped into manageable sizes and hauled to the City's branch pile. There, it was ground into mulch that'll be used throughout the City.
