FOR RELEASE: Residents Asked to Voluntarily Reduce Outdoor Watering Starting October 1

Due to required field maintenance and rehabilitation work at Horsetooth Reservoir, residents are asked to limit outdoor watering beginning October 1.

The Town of Windsor relies on North Weld County Water District, Fort Collins Loveland Water District and the City of Greeley to provide treated water for the Town’s water supply. The Soldier Canyon Water Treatment Plant located at the base of Horsetooth reservoir treats water for North Weld County Water District and Fort Collins Loveland Water District. Northern Water and the Bureau of Reclamation will be performing necessary maintenance at the Soldier Canyon outlet on Horsetooth Reservoir beginning in October. Work is expected to take between 30 to 45 days. While the work is being performed, all water supplies will come from the Cache la Poudre River.
