Weld Re-8 Community,
September of 2020 will forever hold a place in each of our memories. As we enter into the fall, there are many changes that your students will continue to experience. We have Social Distancing for each of our adults and students as well as face masks for protection. Each school continues to have the Enhanced Cleaning Protocols in place with additional staff supporting our teachers and students in the disinfecting of our classrooms, buses and schools.
As you know, Fort Lupton High School managed just two days of in-person learning before we had both cohorts of students exposed to the COVID-19 virus. We have tightened our cohort practices to insure that there are fewer students who, if exposed, would require quarantine. Thank you for your patience during this time of uncertainty. I continue to monitor the COVID cases in Colorado and specifically in Weld County. As of September 8, 2020, there is a 3.65% Positivity rate for our county. We continue to stay relatively flat in new cases and hospitalizations. Here is the website that contains information regarding COVID-19. (https://www.weldgov.com/…/2019_novel_coronavir…/covid19_data)
In addition, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has published another set of guidelines for schools. I have provided the PDF copy for you to read and assist in your learning.
I am thankful for our team of employees who are working daily to provide the best educational opportunity for your student(s). As adults, we are subject to the face masks, social distancing and disinfecting protocols by the minute. We have many families who made the decision to remain in remote learning this school year and our teachers are working under an increased expectation around this type of instruction. Like many, the internet does not always work perfectly and the stress rises for teachers. We certainly desire to have each student engage in learning no matter the in-person or remote design. Please reach out to your school or to me with any questions you may have.
Thank you for continued support, grace and patience.

The Field of Honor®️ is displayed to honor our heroes with the display of the flag that they honored through their service and sacrifice. Fort Lupton’s Field of Honor®️ display of U.S. Flags brings the community and visitors together as 1,000 United State flags are posted at Pearson Park along the South Platte River. Field areas are carefully planned and organized to honor each respective group.
