Congratulations to Neil Temmer, whose volunteer service was honored this week as the Board of Commissioners issued a Certificate of Appreciation saluting his efforts on the Weld County Fair Board over the past year.

While Temmer finished his one-year term, Ken Vaughn was appointed as the fair board’s newest member. Tom Bledsoe was also reappointed by the commissioners to serve another term.

Members of the fair board oversee the Weld County Fair by setting policy overseeing volunteer committees associated with the fair.

The fair board is one of many Weld County Advisory Boards and Commissions that residents can serve on to become more engaged in county government. Volunteers network with other residents and work alongside county staff to provide feedback and ideas that can help the services provided by Weld County Government have the greatest impact.

Several boards and commissions have openings including the Area Agency on Aging Board, Building Trades Advisory Committee, Workforce Development Board, Extension Advisory Council, Greeley Housing Authority and the Weld County Building Code Board of Appeals.
