Yesterday, our K9 team said goodbye to a faithful servant. K9 Brisco served our community alongside Officer Greg Harris from 2009 until Brisco’s retirement in 2015. Upon his retirement, Brisco lived with Officer Harris and his family as the bond between K9 and handler is incredibly strong. Brisco passed away yesterday with Officer Harris, his wife, and members of the K9 unit by his side.

Sgt. Steve Colburn relayed, “Together Brisco and Officer Harris were an unstoppable and invaluable team, whose service will always be remembered. The bond a handler shares with their K9 partner is extremely unique and our thoughts and prayers are with the Harris family during this time of loss. Thanks for your service K9 Brisco- RIP, we have the watch.”

PRESS RELEASE – Tax is topic as Overcash, Clark host listening session Sept. 26

Loveland City Council members Dave Clark and Don Overcash, representing Ward 4, continue a series of listening sessions on Saturday, Sept. 26, with the upcoming sales tax ballot measure up for discussion.

The two council members will host citizens either in person or by remote participation from 10-11:30 a.m. Sept. 26 at 200 E. Seventh St., Suite 200 in downtown Loveland. As many as 12 participants may attend in person, following guidelines contained in public health orders requiring masks and physical distancing. Others are encouraged to attend remotely by phone or Zoom conferencing.

Residents wishing to attend in person must call Councilor Overcash at (267) 664-4957 to reserve one of the available spots. Others can participate remotely by:

• Downloading the Zoom app and joining meeting ID No. 726 123 817, and entering the password 056441.
• Phoning (669) 900-6833 and entering meeting No. 726 123 817.

City Council on July 21 referred a measure to the Nov. 3, 2020, general election ballot calling for a 1 % increase in the City sales tax that, if passed, would be the first since 1984. Proceeds would be directed to public safety, infrastructure projects and City government operations and maintenance. Groceries would be exempt from the increase.
