Get Involved in Youth Mentoring. Upcoming Training! Kids need real connections. Adult volunteers provide important one-on-one attention to youth ages 11-15, who have become involved with Boulder County services, or have been referred by a school counselor in the county.

Meet once per week outside, wearing masks and/or social distancing. Meetings are after school, evenings or weekend hours, for one year (except during pre-planned vacations). Meetings will remain outdoors during COVID-19.

As an authentic active listener, you can help kids navigate the challenges that youth face. Many are simply lacking a connection with a caring adult. Make a difference with your time for a young person to get individual attention they may not receive elsewhere in their lives.

Application deadline is Tuesday, September 15, 2020. A mandatory training for approved applicants will take place Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to noon in an outdoor location in Boulder. Participation will be capped at 10 persons.
Requirements: You must be at least 21 years old, have a good driving history and agree to a background check and fingerprinting. The training on September 22 is MANDATORY. If you cannot attend this training, please consider waiting until the spring cohort is chosen. This is a firm commitment of 1 year after being matched with a youth in the program.

For more information and to register, please email Anne at abrubacher@bouldercounty.org, or call 303-441-4890. More details about the program are available at https://www.bouldercounty.org/…/community-services-youth-m…/
