PRESS RELEASE — Marijuana sale petitioners fall short of goal

A citizen initiative that would have placed a measure on the November general election ballot allowing retail sale of marijuana in Loveland has fallen short of the number of voter signatures required to qualify.

Petitioners needed 2,888 signatures to qualify, but submitted petitions with 2,822 valid signatures.

A resolution referring the marijuana measure to voters would have been considered during the Sept. 1, 2020, meeting of the Loveland City Council, but has been stricken from the agenda.
