Construction begins the week of Jan.18 for Keep Greeley Moving’s 35th Avenue Improvement Project. It widens 35th Ave. from 4th St. to just north of C St. and adds on-street bike lanes, curb, gutter, sidewalks, landscaped medians, and a roundabout at C St. Construction should finish near the end of July.

On Thursday, January 14th at 12:05 pm, Greeley Police officers and the Fire Department were dispatched to an injured worker at the Poudre Ponds construction site, in approximately the 1100 block of North 35th Avenue. A preliminary investigation revealed that a worker was in a trench when the dirt wall collapsed.

The adult male was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The identity of the male will be released by the Weld County Coroner. No additional information will be released today.
