Each year, the past Colorado Fire Instructors of the Year select the next Colorado Fire Instructor of the Year. The chosen instructor is announced at the yearly Colorado State Fire Chiefs conference held in October.

Last week, Chief West (who received the award in 2006), spent time with this esteemed group of fire service leaders, helping select this years winner. He’s been sworn to secrecy!!!

Pick up your Clean Up Day Voucher at Town Hall starting TODAY until October 8!

This year, to avoid direct contact for residents and employees, rather than having residents pay $10 per load to drop items off at the Public Works Building, the Town is providing vouchers good for one trip to the Larimer County Landfill! The voucher will be redeemable October 10-17.

This week is Child Passenger Safety Week, which highlights the importance of properly securing children in vehicles.
Every day in Colorado, parents, and caregivers travel with children in their vehicles. While some children are buckled in properly, many are not, if they are buckled up at all. Car crashes are a leading cause of death in children under 13, but many of these tragedies can be prevented. This week is National Child Passenger Safety Week, and Car Seats Colorado is offering tips and reminding parents to make sure their children are riding safely at all times.
“Every 32 seconds, a child is involved in a car crash,” said Colorado State Patrol (CSP) Trooper Tim Sutherland, Child Passenger Safety Coordinator for Car Seats Colorado, a partnership between CSP and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).
