So, the City is once again experiencing intermittent phone and email problems, and technicians are continually working to resolve these problems.

The phone issue is tied to a trunk fiber cable that was cut by a construction crew in Denver, and the email struggles are the result of a nationwide problem with Microsoft Office 365, which employees across the City use. We wish we could give you an ETA for when this will all be fixed, but every time we're given one by the people outside the City who should know best, the deadline comes and goes.

What can we say, folks? It's 2020. ☹️

Thanks for your patience and your continued good humor. Here's a meme to apologize for your inconvenience.

REMINDER: BNSF Railroad will begin repairs on its rail tracks located on State Highway 66 between Alpine Street and Erfert Street (just east of Walmart) at 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29. The repairs are expected to take two full days. SH 66 traffic will be detoured through Longmont via Main Street, 17th Avenue and Pace Street.

BNSF has experienced periodic issues at the SH 66 rail crossing, leading to multiple temporary emergency repairs in the past month. This week, BNSF will be making more permanent repairs to the crossing by replacing damaged ties.

This is not a City of Longmont project, and the repairs are being paid for by BNSF and the Colorado Department of Transportation. Updates on this project will be available on the City of Longmont’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

Questions can be directed to BNSF at (800) 832-5452 or via an online form at https://bit.ly/3mZby6j.
