The Weld County Health Department’s West Nile Virus (WNV) surveillance program has identified three collection sites that have tested positive for WNV. The mosquitoes were gathered from surveillance in the Johnstown/Milliken/Platteville area on Aug. 3 and Aug. 10. The first instance of WNV in Weld County was found in traps on the east side of Berthoud the week of July 27.
There are currently no human cases of WNV in Weld County and only one in all of Colorado.
