Email going out to parents/guardians today:
Thank you to the 300+ people who joined our first community Zoom meeting last night! We will be hosting another meeting next Monday, August 17th, 2020 from 6-8 PM. Since we had difficulty connecting this meeting to our YouTube channel and Facebook last night, the way to watch the meeting as it is happening is by registering here. We can accommodate up to 500 viewers:
Register in advance for this webinar:
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
I have uploaded the presentation and the video from last night into a Google Folder for you to review and download, if needed. You can find the information here:
The video from last night is about 400 MB and it may take some time to download and view on our YouTube Channel or on the Drive. Please be patient. You can check our YouTube site at this link:
PARENT TO-DO LIST:
Please go through the following information to make sure you are signed-up for the options you are interested in.
Parents do not need to do anything to sign up for in-person instruction. That is the default. If you are essential workers, working parents, and/or a single working parent and you need full time supervision for your child during the day, please indicate your options on this form:
You can also sign up for an full day/full week experience for your child if you are not an essential worker, etc., and we will add students based on availability.
For costs on the options for full day/full week, please see this document:
Since space is limited, we are asking that parents do not sign up for the full-time option if you have the availability to have your elementary or middle aged child with you during the day. We are also asking for parents to indicate if they are open to a "POD" situation where small groups of students would take turns working from different homes when not in in-person learning. By indicating you are interested in hosting or participating in a POD situation does not commit you to that option.
If you are participating in in-person instruction, please see the following health checks each parent will be required to do with their child each morning here:
Fully Online Instruction:
The deadline has been updated to end tonight at 8PM. Please fill out this form if you are interested in your child going fully online:
If you are not sure if you filled out the form or not, you may fill it out again and we will eliminate any duplicates. Please fill out the form for each child that you would like to participate in online learning.
We have extended the dates to make changes in either in-person or online instruction. We have put the first date as October 16th, 2020 (end of grading period) for families to re-evaluate the choice they made for either instruction model. You will need to work with your child's principal to make the switch in instruction at that time.
The second date is at the end of the semester, December 18th, 2020. We will have updated information about the Phase we are in throughout the next few months and will keep parents posted as we have new information.
We have been given guidance that we can transport only 14-20 students at a time in an 84 passenger bus. Only family members can sit together in the seats. We continue to work with state regulators on this number. Please sign up for transportation only if it is absolutely necessary to get your child to/from school. The form is here:
You will not hear anything about transportation until the end of this week/beginning of next week. We will try to accommodate all students needing transportation.
For drop-off/pick-up at schools: We will have multiple areas where parents will be able to drop-off/pick-up during the day. That information will be coming soon directly from your school's principal.
It will be helpful to both you and to us if all parents would fill out the Free and Reduced Lunch Form. If anything in your work situation has changed, we can help with making sure your child receives breakfast and lunch! It helps us to receive additional funds from the federal government and opportunities to also provide lunch when children are out of school (summer, online, etc.) as well as we would be able to eliminate any student lunch debt from previous years off of your account if you are approved. Here is the information:
(This is where you can go to print off and fill out the meal application)
(This is the meal application in the parent portal in Infinite Campus)
If you have any issues with the meal form, please email Gena Spaur at: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 970.587.6055
