27J Parents & Guardians:

As we prepare to begin the 2020-21 school year, it is very important that you log into your Infinite Campus (IC) Parent Portal, prior to the start of the school year, to ensure you are able to access your account.

To sign in to your account, please go to: https://www.sd27j.org/infinite-campus

After logging in, please check that all contact information associated with you and your student(s) in IC is up to date.

Parents/guardians with students attending in-person learning will need to access the IC Parent Portal to complete health screenings for their students this year. Health screening details will be provided to families of students participating in in-person learning.

————

If you have never set up an IC Parent Portal account or are having trouble accessing your account for any reason, please contact your student’s school office directly. School office contact information can be found at www.sd27j.org/schools.

In our next #BehindTheBadgeofBPD meet Detective Garcia.

Detective Garcia has been serving our community since 2016. Det. Garcia has a unique and diverse background and joined police work at a later age in life. With her family's support, she attended the police academy full-time on top of working on completing her degree in criminal justice. She is currently assigned to the investigations division as a general crime detective. She is also a part of our combined Commerce City/Brighton SWAT Team. She is the only female officer on the tactical team. Det. Garcia tells us she enjoys reading, writing, dancing, shooting, and practicing Jiu-Jitsu. She is one of our defense tactic/arrest control instructors.

The reason she joined police work was to help defend those who cannot protect themselves. Det. Garcia said, "I love catching criminals and bringing them to justice." The best part she loves about her job is the fact that police work is anything but routine. Every day is something different, and you never really know what your day will entail. "This is the most rewarding job in the world, and I'm grateful to be here."- Det. Garcia

SCAM WARNING: The City of Brighton is warning of an email scam that asks residents to create a new bank account to receive funds for COVID-19 Assistance Grants.

While the City does notify residents of awards via email, the City issues all grant funds either as a direct credit on your utility account or as a check. The City will never ask you to create a new account, ask for bank routing information or ask for payment to process your application or award.
