BVSD encourages families to apply for subsidized lunches 1

“Unemployment is at almost unheard of levels,” said Food Services Director Ann Cooper. “We know there are more and more families that need help. We want them to know that we’re there for them. There should be no stigma. Our goal is that every kid gets healthy food and no kid is hungry.”

BVSD free and reduced lunch applications are available through Infinite Campus. For more information, go to food.bvsd.org/meals-nutrition/free-reduced-meals.

There was an inspiring virtual gala tonight for Impact on Education! They have done incredible work during the COVID crisis supplying Boulder Valley School District kids with food, internet access, learning opportunities and more. John Tayer was an entertaining MC as always and executive director Allison Frankel Billings spoke movingly about the work still to be done for BVSD kids. There was even a cameo by Jasper Brockett! Boulder Reservoir to Be Drained Starting Sept. 1 for Required Maintenance Work 5

Beginning Sept. 1, 2020, until March 2021, access to Boulder Reservoir will be limited while the reservoir is drained to allow Northern Water, in coordination with the City of Boulder, to perform necessary maintenance on the reservoir and its dams.

Boulder Reservoir to Be Drained Starting Sept. 1 for Required Maintenance Work

The reservoir basin will be closed to all water-based activities, including boating, watercraft, fishing, swimming, wading and other on-water recreation.
