Because the 2020 fair is not open to the public due to COVID-19, we’re showcasing a few photos from each day to highlight our 4-H and FFA youth. Cloverbud projects, ranging from cake decorating to poster designing, were displayed. Each youth, who are 5- to 7-years old, won a participation award for their creative project involving doing something that interested them. Several youth also competed in the Western Performance Class Horse Show today. Individuals demonstrated handling of their horse by walking, trotting, cantering and turning their horse in the opposite direction. For more information on the Weld County Fair, visit www.weldcountyfair.com.

***ATTENTION***

The Town has hired Goltz Asphalt to work on a few much needed patches of asphalt. Those areas include the north alley between 1st St. and 2nd St. off of Clark St.; the intersection of 5th St. at Clark St.; and McIntyre St. between 1st St. and 2nd St. Work will begin Wednesday August 12th and conclude Saturday August 15th. The McIntyre fix will be a complete closure, while the other two will be flagged for one lane crossing. We are hoping to complete further road projects in Town in the future, but these are much needed areas right now. Please see the maps attached for more specific information!

A new scam is circulating in which scammers are calling people claiming to be COVID-19 contact tracers and ask for social security and bank account information. We’d like to share a few facts about what information a contact tracer will and will not ask for when they call someone who has been exposed to COVID-19.

State and county health department contact tracers will NOT ask for:
• Money
• Bank account or credit card numbers
• A social security number
• Immigration status

Contact tracers will, however, ask for your name and date of birth as well as relevant health information related to COVID-19.

For more information about this scam and to report fake contact tracers, please visit https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1.
