On Monday, June 10, at 9 a.m., the Weld County Commissioners will consider a resolution to formally designate all unincorporated areas of the county as being under the purview of county government. Meetings are held in the hearing room of the Weld County Administration Building, located at 1150 O Street in Greeley. Public participation and comment is welcome.
“We are considering this designation in order to provide regulatory stability for the energy industry, to protect the interests of Weld County property owners, and, most importantly, to secure certainty for the women and men who work in the energy industry,” Commissioner Chair Barbara Kirkmeyer said. “Land-use matters are best handled at a local level not through state regulations.”
