Today, Deputy Metcalfe of the Weld County Sheriff’s Office received the Ribbon of Merit for his role in shaping the Emergency Practical team into what it has become for the Detentions Division.
Deputy Metcalfe has served as a role player, and as a team leader over the last two and a half years. He has devoted countless hours of his own time to developing a curriculum to train new deputies.
Deputy Metcalfe’s direct involvement has led to an increase in valid, relevant and realistic training while reducing the chance for injury to the deputies or role players.
This type of leadership is needed and appreciated. Especially considering how far he has gone above and beyond the expectations of an instructor as well as a Detentions Deputy to accomplish these positive changes.
