Report an Accident

Roads are only expected to get worse throughout the storm…

Report an Accident

The weather went from “meh” to terrible in the last hour. For that reason, the town is officially on Accident Alert.

While accident alert is in effect, Police Officers will only respond if the following circumstances exist: vehicles are disabled due to damage, the accident involves a fatality or injury requiring medical attention, alcohol or drugs are involved, the accident is an alleged hit and run, or if there is damage to public property other than wildlife (example: a highway guardrail).

If you are in an accident that does not meet the above criteria for a police response, then please exchange information and file an online accident report as soon as possible. If you are unsure how to proceed, please call Dispatch at 970-674-6400. State law requires a report to be filed. A report can be filed either on-line colorado.gov/pacific/dmv/report-accident or at the police department where the accident occurred.

Please drive safely as conditions continue to deteriorate.

Also, while the Community Recreation Center currently remains open, tonight’s Summer Enrichment Expo at the Community Recreation Center has been rescheduled to April 24, 4:30-7:30 p.m.
