On Sunday night, a team of our biologists worked late into the night catching bats as part of ongoing research to survey the mammals’ health and look for White Nose Syndrome.

They erected fine mist nets—some 24 feet tall and 32 feet wide—across a small drainage, then set up a creekside laboratory where they weighed, measured, swabbed and examined for signs of deadly fungus, with only headlamps for light.
