Today, we tip our hats to the Public Works and Police departments. Both teams worked around the clock in blizzard conditions. On top of accidents and assisting stranded motorists, they battled down power lines, stop signs and trees. (Pictured below: a down tree in Mead Town Park)

Regarding snow removal, the Public Works Department, a six-person team, is responsible for clearing 53 centerline miles of road. Yesterday, the town had four plow operators on duty from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and two operators from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. this morning. The crews were back at it today, tackling sidewalks and continuing to open the roadways to full widths.

Again, thank you!
