This week is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Colorado and it’s a great time to learn about some of the common types of severe weather throughout the spring and summer and what steps you should take to protect yourself.

One way you can protect yourself is by staying alert for changing emergency and weather conditions. Weld County Government has a great tool to help you do that! CodeRED is a free service that you can sign up for to receive a variety of emergency alerts directly to your landline or cellular phone. CodeRED can alert you for a variety of different emergencies including evacuation notices, bio-terrorism alerts, boil water notices and missing child reports. You can also sign up for weather alerts if you choose.

Signing up is easy. Just go to www.weld911alert.com or call (970) 304-6540 and ask to register.
