Here comes round 2… please plan accordingly. Travel is NOT RECOMMENDED once the snow starts tomorrow afternoon. Please be prepared!

1:45 PM Tuesday, April 9, 2019: Here are the latest details and snow/wind forecasts for this powerful spring storm.

A powerful spring storm will bring high winds and snow to much of northeast Colorado Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday night, gradually tapering off by Thursday morning. Please make alternative travel plans during this period. Travel is not recommended anywhere east of I-25 and over the Palmer Divide where the blizzard starts with heavy snow and whiteout conditions Wednesday afternoon. West of I-25 and over the mountains, travel will also be hazardous with slushy and snow covered roads and reduced visibility in heavy snow.

Don’t be fooled by the relatively mild temperatures to start the day Wednesday, as a very strong cold front will quickly change rain to a heavy, wet, wind-driven snow by early to mid afternoon. Please stay tuned for updates on this powerful winter storm.
