Winter Storm Overview 12:24 PM: A powerful winter storm system will bring high and potentially damaging winds and heavy snow to portions of the northeast plains. Travel is not recommended, and will be dangerous especially east of the I-25 Corridor Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night. Rain will change to a heavy, wet snow from west to east across the plains late Wednesday morning into the afternoon hours. We may see blizzard conditions develop shortly after the onset of snow, as high winds with gusts to 60-75 mph develop east of I-25. There is much more uncertainty with regard to snow accumulations west of I-25, but several inches will be possible depending on the exact storm track. Please stay tuned for updates on this powerful winter storm.
