APRIL 14 THROUGH 20, IS NATIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATIONS WEEK!

The Weld County Board of Commissioners has proclaimed this week National Public Safety Telecommunications Week. According to the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO), the week is a “time to celebrate those who dedicate their lives to serving the public.”

In honor of the week, the board recognized the Weld County Regional Communications Center (WCRCC) staff’s dedication to public safety and helping residents during emergencies.

911 Communications Specialists are the link between community members and the public safety response system. WCRCC is an Accredited Center of Excellence; which makes it elite compared to other emergency communications centers across the nation.

At Monday’s board meeting, the center was recognized for winning two awards from the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) and APCO. The WCRCC is the 2019 Communications Center of the Year and Jessica Flohrs, Weld County 911 Communications Specialist, has been named the 2019 Trainer of the Year.
