It has been awhile since we’ve posted a Throwback Thursday, but this photograph was recently sent to us from Arizona and we thought it was too good not to share. We were contacted, via our website, by Mike Wetzler, He said his grandfather had an old photograph of the Fort Collins Fire Department and he wanted to donate it to us. The photograph appears to be from the late 1890s or early 1900s. It is known as a cabinet card, a style of photograph that was popular after the Civil War until about 1906. There are stickers on the back of the photograph that indicate it was made by the Butte Portrait Company, which was established in 1896. Fortunately someone made a list of those pictured. If you have further information on this photograph, please contact Chris Wolf at cwolf@poudre-fire.org
