The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Red flag warning for nearly all of Eastern Colorado, including Weld County, in effect until 9 p.m. Thursday. NWS has also issued a high wind watch through Saturday. https://www.weather.gov/media/bou/sitreport/SitReport1.pdf
Strong winds, low humidity, and unseasonably warm temperatures mean high fire danger! Be mindful of how easy it is to start a fire on days like today, and do what you can to help: avoid pulling over on a dry, grassy area, use spark arrestors on gasoline powered equipment, extinguish smoking materials completely, ensure tow chains don’t drag on the ground, and be aware of fire restrictions (campfires and agricultural burns can be dangerous in these conditions).
And now, a look ahead at tomorrow’s weather: Snow possible. Don’t you love Colorado in the Spring?
