Christopher David Parker, 35, of Loveland was arrested Tuesday and transferred to the Larimer County Jail. He was charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in relation to what appeared to be two random shooting on northern Colorado roadways. The Northern Colorado Shooting Task Force has planned a news conference at the Loveland Police Department at 10:00 a.m. today.
David Moore, a spokesman for the task force said, “I can tell you this is going to be the most significant update we’ve had to date.”
Parker’s home on West Eighth Street in Loveland was searched by The Loveland Police Department and FBI agents on Tuesday. He is currently being held without bail. Parker was ordered to have no contact with the family of William Connole, the Loveland man who was shot and killed in 2015 while out on a late night walk. Physical evidence has linked that shooting with another that happened the same night. An undisclosed person was shot at while riding a motorcycle that shooting occurred minutes before Connole’s death.
The task force has linked two other shootings with evidence, but it was unclear at this time which two crimes Moore was being charged with. Moore said, “I would say that until all the cases under investigation are solved, there probably won’t be a full sense of relief. The task force is committed to solving all of the cases assigned to them, and we have no intention of stopping the investigation until that comes to fruition.”
Evidence has linked the shootings of Milliken Cori Romero and the killing of John Jacoby. Romeo was shot in the neck on April 22, 2015, while driving southbound on Interstate 25, she survived the shooting. Jacoby was killed on May 18, 2015, while riding his bicycle near Weld County roads 15 & 72.
The Northern Colorado Shooting Task Force is compromised of the Weld and Larimer sheriff’s offices, the Weld and Larimer district attorney’s offices, the Windsor and Loveland police departments, and the FBI is officially investigating all six of the shootings.
