The Roosevelt girls track & field team began it’s 2018 campaign March 8th at District 6 stadium in Greeley, competing in the first Colorado high school track meet of the year.  Roosevelt took on the Greeley high schools, and walked away winners of 4 of the 5 relays and 9 of the 14 individual events.  The Roughriders wore down the competition with impressive depth across all event areas.  Madi Kenyon, Emily Severin and Daisy Ortiz each notched 3 titles on the day.  Skylar Keller, Lauren Hall, Brooke Hall, Kelsey Lagunas, Grace Lange and Logan DeRock each earned 2 wins on the day, with DeRock’s 120’6″ throw narrowly missing the Roosevelt school Discus record by a mere 2 inches.  Team scoring was done in dual format, with every competing school being scored head to head against each other.  The Roughriders will compete next week, splitting up the squads between Frederick on Friday the 16th and Windsor Saturday the 17th.
