Colorado Wheat Field Days let farmers see new and traditional varieties side-by-side in trial plots. Our nationally renowned CSU wheat breeder, Dr. Scott Haley, will talk about issues facing variety development and discuss the pros and cons of most of the varieties in each trial. Dr. Jerry Johnson will review the wheat variety trial results from 2017 and provide variety selection information. Dr. Kirk Broders, CSU plant pathologist, will talk about control of rust and virus diseases of wheat that will be of interest to all attendees. Brad Erker, Executive Director of three Colorado wheat organizations, will talk about the support provided by the wheat organizations to the CSU breeding and testing programs. Rick Novak, CSU seed programs director, will bring us all up to date on seed issues related to wheat production. Please plan to attend. Mark it down on your calendars. It is not every day that you get a free lunch or dinner! Please look at the flyer for upcoming dates.
