Today we welcomed 20 new faces to the Detentions Division of the Weld County Sheriff’s Office. Over the next four weeks these new recruits will learn the skills necessary to safeguard and hold inmates at the Weld County Jail. They will learn interpersonal communication skills and defensive tactics, as well as a variety of other skills that will help them be successful every day. Their academy will be followed by a rigorous field training period with a training officer before they are signed off to work on their own.
Their journey is just beginning, and we look forward to seeing how they develop as deputies.
Good luck, and welcome to the Weld County Family!
